golden harvest

Equinoxes and Solstices are moments of important energy shifts for us - as light and dark ebb and flow.

This year’s psychological harvest awakens us to our body’s senses, our world’s needs, and our spiritual place in the cosmos.

Autumn Equinox is a sacred moment for grieving our many losses - as individuals, as a culture, as Earth-Gaia. We join Demeter and other Mother Goddesses from around the globe - weeping for all that is gone. Our beating hearts beating on.

The Mother weeps and rages, the Daughter leaves courageously, the Old One beckons with Her wisdom and promise of transformation.

Persephone is the Seed in the Heart/Core of the Mother and the Mother is in the Seed within us. They are in each other - we are of each other.

We wish all a bountiful harvest! May there be peace within us and between us.

eclipsed

Change is inevitable - no matter how much it surprises or how we resist. Around the world the Ring of Fire has been restive.

Also referred to as the Circum-Pacific Belt, is a path along the Pacific Ocean characterized by active volcanoes and frequent earthquakes.

Seventy-five percent of earth’s volcanoes - more than 450, are located along the Ring of Fire. Ninety percent of earth’s earthquakes occur along its path, including the planet’s most violent and dramatic seismic events.

In Negros Island where I was born and grew up, Mount Kanla-on had been spewing volcanic ash and shaking the earth since September 2024. Folks have been displaced and evacuated from its vicinity. Farms have been abandoned and left follow under sulfur fumes.

Lammas | Lughnasadh | Loaf Mass Day

The 2024 dates for Lammas | Lughnasadh | Loaf Mass Day are August 1 to 12. Many cultures celebrate Midsummer - this week we also mark 8:8:8 Lion's Gate as well as the peak of the Perseids meteor showers.

We are halfway through the summer in all its glory - with its COVID spreading county fairs, backyard barbeques, political rodeos, and Olympic upsets.

At Lammas we honor the past with a feast of bread to celebrate grain from ancient cultures. Because of its association with Lugh - warrior, king, master craftsman, savior - it is also a traditional time of year for craft and music festivals. Folks gather and feast as skilled artisans showcase their workmanship and sell their creations.

Mabon brings balance & clarity

Autumn Equinox or Mabon is a psychological reset - a time to balance the energies of summer against the energies of winter - life cycling to death. It’s a time to center and ground ourselves as we move into the dark time of the year - a time to go within and nurture our inner lives.

Opposite to the Spring Equinox, autumn equinox like full moon energy brings the outcome of intentions we set in spring.

What have we learned to harvest since the Spring Equinox - the astrological new year? How will that harvest nurture us over the winter? What can we use and plant into our soul’s soil for next year?

action & reflection

The full moon embodies self-expression and action. When the moon and sun are in opposition, Helios is so far away from Luna that the full face of our nightly companion is lit up. Perhaps distance does make the heart grow fonder.

We have traveled far, and now is the time to rest, and look back on our accomplishments, or at what we have left behind, as the case may be. Our emotions and our physical body are heightened during this phase of the Moon.

Listen to the needs of body and mind - opposing energy of the Sun (ego, self) and the Moon (inner-self, subconscious) can cause tension - explosions of emotions. Create rituals that reflect and manifest this.

"equinox" comes from the Latin for "equal" & "night"

winter solstice wisdom

Winter Solstice is the birthday of the Sun and of the year.

It is a time when we experience the greatest darkness, when the hours of darkness are so much greater than the hours of daylight.

It is within this time of greatest darkness that the Light of the World is reborn, for now the hours of daylight will begin to grow and the hours of darkness will lessen.

Danu the Mother Goddess

It is at Winter Solstice that the truth of our Oneness is most evident, for the darkness that we face is our own darkness and aloneness.

The Light becomes most precious as we realize that it is through the Light that we come to love and appreciate each other.

advent season starts today

Advent season starts today. What better time to resurrect this fallow blog? Two years after I had stopped and moved on to other interests, it is time to return.

The Latin word adventus is the translation of the Greek word parousia, (/pəˈruːziə/; Greek: παρουσία) meaning presence, arrival, or official visit.

Christians commonly use Advent to refer to the Second Coming of Christ. The season anticipates the Messiah's arrival from these different perspectives:
  1. in the flesh in Bethlehem,
  2. in our hearts daily, and
  3. in glory at the end of time.
Celebrating Advent typically involves a season of prayer, fasting, and repentance, followed by anticipation, hope, and joy.

It is customary to put up Christmas decorations at this time. Advent also marks the beginning of the Western liturgical year.

Time for me to reboot this blog. This officially marks my renewed commitment as a holistic healer. Sharing what blessing and grace I receive with our online community or anyone interested.
