The full moon embodies self-expression and action. When the moon and sun are in opposition, Helios is so far away from Luna that the full face of our nightly companion is lit up. Perhaps distance does make the heart grow fonder.

We have traveled far, and now is the time to rest, and look back on our accomplishments, or at what we have left behind, as the case may be. Our emotions and our physical body are heightened during this phase of the Moon.

Listen to the needs of body and mind - opposing energy of the Sun (ego, self) and the Moon (inner-self, subconscious) can cause tension - explosions of emotions. Create rituals that reflect and manifest this.

The spring equinox, also known as the vernal equinox, occurs annually around March 20. In the Northern Hemisphere, this date marks the start of the spring season. In the Southern Hemisphere, the March equinox marks the beginning of autumn.

An equinox is traditionally defined as the time when the plane of Earth's equator passes through the geometric center of the Sun's disk.

This event takes place twice a year, the fall equinox being experienced around September 23. On the day of an equinox, daytime and nighttime are of approximately equal duration all over the planet.

Folklore, myth, or fact - curiosity around the spring equinox has endured for millennia, making the customs associated with this time of year a fascinating mix of fact and fiction.

The Moon and the hare were believed to die daily in order to be reborn—thus the hare is a symbol of immortality and associated with rebirth and renewal. 

In ancient Rome, the spring equinox was an excuse by some to celebrate the deity Cybele, a goddess closely associated with nature and fertility - also known as Magna Mater ("Great Mother"). 

Ancient Judaic mythology suggests that the solstices and equinoxes were spiritually vulnerable moments, periods when fresh clean spring water became unsafe to drink due to warring supernatural powers tainting it with poison. 

Humans have long believed the spring equinox is the start of a fertile time in all living things. Many prehistoric monuments served for millennia as a symbolic gathering point for marking and celebrating the earth's cycles.
