fire & smoke

Back in the US after being abroad for months. Breathing air heavy with smoke from the burning primordial forests of Canada. Where the fires are too big and crazy they are left to burn wild.

Too bad. So sad.

mantra & prayer

More than 100 times over the past three months, Canadian wildfires have grown sufficiently large and powerful to produce their own weather.

Kicking up giant thunderclouds known as pyrocumulonimbusInjecting smoke high into the atmosphere. Transporting smoke over considerable distances.

Hot and dry weather triggered an early and intense wildfire season in Canada - the worst on record. Smoke from the fires continues to spill over to the US - affect wide regions as well.

Breath it all in - into our blood and cells. Exhale out its essence - in heartbeat, in breathwork. Sing awake to each sunrise - in support, in thanksgiving.

Feel. Listen. Allow.

As essence flows into our heart - our breaking aching core. Leave the burning groves covered in ash - a kabuki dancer stumbling on - mute and blind.

Do not brush off this sacred burden lightly. Keep our dirge of sorrow alive and strong.
